Skilled Nursing

The transition to a nursing home can be a major change for both the resident and his/her family. Skilled nursing care at Kensington Care & Rehab Center offers round-the-clock care for persons who require the services of a professional nursing staff or are unable to live independently. Our staff includes registered and licensed nurses, as well as certified nursing assistants, working together to provide the highest quality clinical and personal care. Focused Rehabilitation Services

If there is an orthopedic surgery or another major medical procedure in the future, undergoing post-operative care and rehabilitative therapy is inevitable. You want to get better and you want to get home as soon as possible. That’s why we offer comprehensive rehabilitative care at Kensington Care & Rehab Center, where you can work with specially-trained therapists in a comfortable, home-like setting.

From physical and occupational therapy to speech therapy, our therapists will work closely with you to develop a rehabilitative care program tailored to meet your specific needs. Therapy is available six days a week. Physical therapy may include strength training, pain management through modalities, massage, electrical stimulation, diathermy, ultrasound, hydrotherapy, and heat and cold treatments. Occupational therapists assist residents in regaining their highest level of independence in daily living skills, and speech therapists work with those who need to regain communication and swallowing skills. The focused rehabilitation unit at Kensington Care & Rehab understands that an effective pain management program is critical to being able to participate in therapy. Our unit is overseen by a Physiatrist, who specializes in pain management, who is on-site weekly and works with the team and your physician to ensure the most comfortable stay possible.
